Introducing Cymraeg Campus

Dear Parents/ Annwyl Rhieni

We are embarking on an exciting new challenge in Croesty. As part of the Siarter Iaith ( Welsh Language Charter) there is a project called Cymraeg Campus. This project is to develop the sense of being Welsh and bilingualism throughout the country. The school will work towards a Bronze award with 10 targets including, using apps, reading, using Welsh inside and outside of the classroom, participating in enrichment activities such as Llangrannog, the Eisteddfod alongside many other things. We have introduced these to the children and our first objective is to get the children speaking more Welsh. Every week we will have a new phrase of the week introduced by our newly elected Criw Cymraeg. This video will be placed on the website for children and families to use outside of school as well. We encourage you to give it a go! Every class will elect a Welsh speaker/ siaradwyr yr wythnos and there will also be a teacher of the week too! We are all embracing the project whole heartedly and I’ve been so proud of the efforts already made by pupils. In addition to this pupils work as class teams to collect Tocyn Iaith and we see which class will get the weekly trophy! We are hoping to involve the parents in a launch to this project so watch this space .......
