Ysgol Gynradd Croesty

Croesty Primary School

Opening of Schools on 17th & 18th December to provide Learning Provision for the children of Critical Workers

You may be aware that Welsh Government are insisting that every Primary School, regardless of circumstance, offer learning provision for the children of critical workers in the final two days of this term. In our situation we can only open two classes.  The provision will only be available to those children in those year bubbles. The provision is offered from 08:30 to 16:00 and we would urge that you only make an application if you have no other alternative. You will need to make your application by email to admin.croesty@bridgend.gov.uk by 12:00 on 16-12-20.

To make an application you must be able to fulfil the following criteria:

  • Both parents (or as a single parent) must be employed by the ‘blue light services, front line NHS staff, Ambulance Service Staff, Police or the Fire and Rescue Service
  • Or both parents (or as a single parent) must be Teachers and support staff working in schools
  • Or both parents (or as a single parent) are Social care workers

Unfortunately, your application will be rejected if you don’t meet the above criteria. Please be aware that you and your children must be well with no COVID-19 symptoms to take up this offer.

Your child must be in the Year 6 Bubble or the Year 4 bubble.

It is very likely that there is a high incidence of COVID-19 in the school population and we are therefore not offering any mixed bubble provision.

Please be aware that very few children will qualify for this provision at Croesty and that if successful your child may well be on their own for the day.

To make an application you will need to email us by 12:00 tomorrow confirming your child’s name, year group, the days required and your child’s lunch preferences. We will confirm your place and provide further details before the end of the day on 16-12-20.
